I owned this controller for one month prior to the X and square buttons becoming unusable. Two months later, without any contact from SCEA, I called them to receive a status update.

They told me that region-specific systems and peripherals must be returned to regional centers (i.e. Not a lot of good that will do me now considering the warranty has expired.
If you live in the United States and are thinking of purchasing the Japanese version of the Dual Shock 3 controller beware that you have no recourse replacing this item if it breaks within Sony's 90-day warranty period. I called SCEA to have the broken controller replaced and they instructed me to send it to their fulfillment department in San Mateo, CA.
They said they would send me the broken controller back if I desired and I could then send it to Japan.
as long as you know that, you should be good. this one is the same thing. thats about it. i was hoping this would be a more responsive pad than the us one, as was the case with the ps2 dualshocks (japanese one was way better for ps2). youre paying like 14+ bucks more just for the color; the fact that its japanese is really of no consequence whatsoever (made in china like the us one anyway, lol).
This dual shock's silver cover sucks, i accidently dropped it and the silver paint came off.it works as any other dual shock 3 controller but if u expect it to last in silver, forget it.
I wanted a controller that would just stand out, and this was it.Once I started gaming with it, it felt like old times of playing the PS2. I always wanted to get a dualshock controller for my PS3 but I didn't want to pay so much for a black one. The rumble makes you feel like you're really at war now.I plan on buying the white controller pretty soon. I couldn't wait any longer to get this controller. It will be in stores near the end of June. I only have two games that the rumble works on (Call of Duty World At War & WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2009).
its that amazon had this color available a YEAR before any retail in the US, including Gamestop. best thing. oh and like 10bucks cheaper.hell yeah
